Lions Nepal Hands Over Rs 10.11 Million to Government for Bhotekoshi Flood Victims

Kathmandu : Lions International Multiple District 325 Nepal has provided more than NPR 10.1 million (Rs. 10,111,111) to support the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi area of Rasuwa.

A delegation led by Lions International Director Rajan Lamsal handed over the financial assistance to the Government of Nepal through Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. The assistance was provided under the theme “Unity for Humanity” and the campaign slogan “Joining Hands with the Government, Helping Hands.” Lions Nepal said the support reflects its commitment to standing with affected communities and working in coordination with the government during national disasters.

The handover ceremony was attended by Lions leaders including International Director Rajan Lamsal, former International Directors Bal Krishna Burlakoti and Sanjay Khetan, GAT Area Leader Shambhu Ghimire, LCIF Area Leader Arun Pratap Rana, Multiple Council Chairperson Keshar Bhandari, Vice Council Chairperson Sandeep Kasaundhan, Spokesperson Tara Bhusal, Treasurer Shyam Prasad Yadav and Multiple Joint Secretary Uddhav Silwal. Multiple Secretary and District 325 M Governor Ratna Parajuli, District 325 K Nepal Governor Ramesh Adhikari, along with governors from all 15 districts, also participated in the programme.

Lions Nepal said the assistance is not limited to immediate relief but is part of its broader commitment to help disaster-affected communities recover and return to normal life. The organization has pledged to continue coordinating with government agencies and providing necessary support for families who have lost homes, livelihoods and other assets in the disaster.

Meanwhile, Lions International District 325 K Nepal, under the leadership of District Governor Ramesh Adhikari, has also launched a relief initiative in Nuwakot. A team including First Vice District Governor Bishnu Hari Phuyal and Second Vice District Governor Hasan Kumar Gopali, along with other district leaders, distributed essential food items and clothing to displaced families affected by the floods in Wards 7 and 8 of Belkotgadhi Municipality.

The relief materials were distributed in coordination with the local government, targeting families who were displaced and in immediate need of food and clothing. The district said Lions volunteers and leaders would continue humanitarian support and coordination with local authorities in the affected areas.
