Lions Club President, Police Rescue 31-Year-Old Man from Dhobikhola

Kathmandu, 8 September : A 31-year-old man who fell into the Dhobikhola River at Chabahil in Kathmandu was rescued in time through the prompt efforts of Anjan Shrestha, President of Lions Club of Kathmandu Gongabu, and the police.

Kailash Rasaili, 31, originally from Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City–14, Sunsari, and currently residing in Dhumbarahi, fell into the Dhobikhola near Toyota Park in Chabahil at around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday. After noticing that Rasaili had fallen into the river, Lions Club of Kathmandu Gongabu President Shrestha immediately joined the rescue effort.

Shrestha coordinated with the police and took an active role in rescuing Rasaili from the river. With assistance from local residents, the rescue team managed to pull him out of the river safely.

Following the rescue, Rasaili was sent to Om Hospital for medical treatment. His life was saved after Shrestha and the police responded promptly upon receiving information about the incident.

Meanwhile, a video related to the incident has gone viral on social media. The video claims that Rasaili jumped into the river after being unable to obtain cooking gas. However, the claim has not been independently confirmed.

Shrestha, who is also actively involved in humanitarian and social service through Lions Club, said that immediate rescue and assistance are essential during emergencies and disasters.

The timely rescue of Rasaili prevented the incident from developing into a more serious situation.
