PM Shah holds discussion with people’s representatives from disaster crisis-hit areas

Kathmandu, Sept 14: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has begun consultations with the people’s representatives from as many as 15 districts and local levels declared disaster crisis-hit following the August 26’s Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa district.

The meeting commenced at 11:00 am today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) in Singha Durbar.

Members of the House of Representatives from Nuwakot, Dr Bikram Timilsina and Achyutam Lamichhane, along with Chiefs of the flood-affected local governments in Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha and Tanahun districts, are taking part in the discussion.

According to the OPMCM, review of the situation in the affected areas following the devastating flood, assessment of the current challenges and discussion on immediate measures as well as recovery and reconstruction efforts will figure the meeting.

Representatives from Nuwakot include Bidur municipality Mayor Rajan Shrestha, Belkotgadhi municipality Mayor Jagat Bahadur Gurung, Kispang rural municipality Chair Birbal Tamang and Tarkeshwar rural municipality Chairperson Shiv Adhikari who are holding discussions with the Head of the Government.

Likewise, present in the meeting are Uttargaya rural municipality Chairperson Madhav Prasad Aryal, Kalika rural municipality Chairperson Hari Krishna Devkota and Aamachhodingmo rural municipality Chairperson Buchung Tamang.

Similarly, Dhading’s Galchhi rural municipality Chairperson Kedarnath Khatiwada, Siddalek rural municipality Chairperson Parshuram Khatiwada, Gajuri rural municipality Chairperson Ganeshlal Shrestha and Benighat Rorang rural municipality Chairperson Krishna Bahadur Thapaliya (BK) are attending the meeting, shared the OPMCM.
Also, participating in the meeting include Tanahu’s Devghat rural municipality Chairperson Til Bahadur Thapa and Aanbukhaireni rural municipality Chairperson Shukra Chuman and Gorkha’s Gandaki rural municipality Chairperson Dipak Timilsina.

However, Gosaikunda rural municipality Chairperson Kaising Nurpu Tamang is participating virtually, informed the OPMCM. RSS
