Kathmandu, Sept 14: Press Council Nepal has expressed concern over a YouTube interview with a flood survivor, which was taken in the concerned hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
In a press release issued on Monday, the Council stated it had taken note of the broadcast by the YouTube channel called ‘Inside the Bunker,’ which featured an interview with a person rescued after ten days from the Trishuli III ‘A’ Hydropower Project site in Rasuwa.
The statement also mentions that the Council had previously taken note of a video broadcast by BBC Nepali news service, which featured an interview conducted from the ICU with a trekking guide who was undergoing hospital treatment after being found on the seventh day of having gone missing in the Everest (Sagarmatha) region.
The Press Council stated that it is conducting further study and monitoring of such content to ensure compliance with the Journalists’ Code of Conduct.
The Council further noted that it has initiated correspondence with the concerned media personnel, the hospital, and the Nepal Medical Council to facilitate necessary review of the matter.#rss
