Kaski, Sept 15: The ‘Right to Protein Run 2026’ is to be organized in Kaski on September 19.
At a press conference organized in Pokhara today, the hosts shared that a total of 4,106 runners from Nepal and nine other countries will take part in the race organized by the Nepal Feed Industries Association (NFIA) aiming to promote nutrition, protein awareness, physical fitness, and a healthy lifestyle.
Programme Coordinator Samej Rajbhandari informed that participants from India, China, the United States, Denmark, Kenya, France, South Korea, Germany, and England, along with Nepal will attend the race.
The race will start from Basundhara Park in Pokhara Lakeside, pass through Hallanchok, Khahare, Sedi, Khapoudi, and Pame, reach Lauruk before returning to Basundhara Park via same route.
For the competition, 406 men and 64 women will participate in the half marathon. In the open category, 988 men will run 10 kilometers and 397 women will run 5 kilometers.
In addition, for youth up to grade 12, a total of 1,658 boys will run 5 kilometers and 553 girls will run 3 kilometers. In the wheelchair category, 24 men and 16 women will compete in the 3-kilometer race.
At the programme, the Nepal Athletics Association will provide technical support, while various organizations such as the Nepali Youth Entrepreneurs Forum Pokhara, Nepal Hatchery Industry Association, Nepal Layers Poultry Farmers Association, Restaurant and Bar Association, Lions Club, and Nepal Poultry Federation will also participate. #rss
