Engineer goes missing since Bhoteskoshi floods, spouse’s plea for rescue

Janakpurdham, Sept 8: It has been nearly two weeks the devastative Bhotekoshi flood struck Nepal from Rasuwa district, but the whereabouts of an engineer working in a hydropower project of Rasuwa is still unknown.

Pooja Sah, spouse of the missing engineer, has continued appealing to the government bodies for his search and rescue. Engineer Ajay Prasad Singh was working at UT 216 MW Doosan Power House (Upper Trishuli I).

Pooja has written an emotional message on a social media, saying she had still hope of her husband’s life. However, the family is in utter agony for not getting information about him.

“Wherever you’re, please inform me. I come to you for your rescue. I want to hear from you. I want to see you again,” she wrote addressing the missing husband, adding even the little daughter is desperately waiting to hear your voice.

The little daughter has not been able to see you for long, Pooja stated. She further said she did not want anything except safe return of her husband, urging the government, security agencies, local levels and all others concerned. Pooja’s family demanded related power company, district administration, security agencies, local levels and disaster management agency for the effective search of the missing ones.

She also pointed out the need for launching search in various places such as Mailing bazaar, Thadegaon, Ramche, Grang, Battar, Kalikasthan, Dhunche, Bhorle, Yarsa, Mailungdanda. Even the jungle and hills in vicinity could be searched with the mobilization of additional team and drones, according to her.

“I’ve only question- why the rescue has not gained a pace,” she wondered and argued her husband might be waiting for help and rescue. The upset woman shared that she was undergoing mounting agony for her compulsion to visit one office to another to exert pressure for search and rescue efforts.

Senior Superintendent of Police at Madhes Police Office, Prabhu Prasad Dhakal, 38 among 220 persons hailing from Madhesh who went missing in the Bhoteskoshi floods, have come in contact following the disaster.

Two persons- one each from Saptari and Bara district- were found dead in the disaster, while remaining others are still out of contact, Dhakal added. #rss
