Seti River in Pokhara creates lake, security surveillance increased in Ramghat area

Kaski, Sept 26: A lake has formed in the Seti River in Pokhara, prompting the authorities to declare a state of high alert along the Ramghat area.

Water level rises in the Seti River following the incessant rains, resulting in the formation of the lake.

Following this development, security personnel have been deployed to the surrounding squatter settlements and the vulnerable areas are under constant surveillance, Chitrangat Baral, the Assistant Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kaski, said. “We are assessing the situation.”

Meanwhile, the incessant rains led to the disruption of some rural roads in the district. At Syauli Bazar of Annapurna Rural Municipality-8, the Modi River caused eroded the road segment up to 10 meters, obstructing the Nayapul-Birethanti-Gandruk section.

As the local government said, with this, the roadway connectivity between Pokhara and Ghandruk has been disrupted. #rss
