Heritage Dharahara Launches Leo Club at Bagmati Area Lions Ceremony

Kathmandu, October 11: Despite the rainfall, induction and joint installation ceremonies for Lion Year 2026–27 have been continuing across various Lions clubs under Lions International District 325 K Nepal.

As part of the ongoing programs, the Bagmati Area Induction and Joint Installation Ceremony was held at Godhuli Event and Foodland in Basundhara, Kathmandu. Newly appointed club presidents, office bearers and new members of various Lions clubs were inducted and installed during the ceremony.

District Governor of Lions International District 325 K Nepal, Lion Ramesh Adhikari, attended the event as the chief guest. Second Vice District Governor Lion Hasan Kumar Gopali, Cabinet Secretary Lion Ganesh GC, Cabinet Treasurer Lion Chudamani Silwal, District Chief Advisor Lion Min Raj Kafle, PRO-in-Chief Lion Surendra Babu Shrestha, DG Theme Chief Shrikrishna Manandhar, Mission 1.5 Chief Lion Mahaprasad Pandey and other senior district leaders were also present.

The ceremony was inaugurated by District Governor Lion Ramesh Adhikari by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Following the authorization of the District Governor, Second Vice District Governor Lion Hasan Kumar Gopali conducted the induction and installation of new members of Lions Club of Kathmandu Heritage Dharahara and Lions Club of Kathmandu Bihani.

Heritage Dharahara Launches Leo Club

A major highlight of the event was the formal inauguration of Leo Club of Kathmandu Heritage Dharahara by Lions Club of Kathmandu Heritage Dharahara.

Eleven years after its establishment, Heritage Dharahara has formed the Leo Club with the objective of engaging young people in Lions service and developing future leaders.

The newly formed Leo Club has Kimberley Shrestha as Charter President, Anmol Acharya as First Vice President, Rose Mary Shrestha as Second Vice President, Archana Pyaakurel as Secretary and Nisha Dhamala as Treasurer, with a total of 21 members.

The establishment of the Leo Club is expected to help institutionalize the leadership skills, creativity and spirit of service among young people and further strengthen social service activities in the coming days.

With the inauguration of the Leo Club, Heritage Dharahara has also taken an active step toward developing future leadership within the Lions movement.

Heritage Dharahara Focuses on Membership Growth and Service

During the event, it was informed that Lions Club of Kathmandu Heritage Dharahara has continued its membership expansion and service-oriented activities since the beginning of Lion Year 2026–27.

The club has successfully added one PMJF and one MJF during the period and has been adding at least one new member every month.

On the occasion, new club member Kamala Pariyar was honored by District Governor Lion Ramesh Adhikari with a Governor’s Pin.

Leaders Urged to Strengthen Service Activities

Guests addressing the ceremony congratulated the newly installed presidents and office bearers of both clubs and wished them a successful term. They urged the clubs to make service activities in education, healthcare, environmental protection, disaster management and other social sectors more effective during Lion Year 2026–27.

PRO-in-Chief Lion Surendra Babu Shrestha, District Chief Advisor Lion Min Raj Kafle and other speakers praised the leadership, active participation and service-oriented activities of Heritage Dharahara and other Lions clubs.

Speaking at the event, Chief Guest and District Governor Lion Ramesh Adhikari said that the support provided by Heritage Dharahara and Bihani clubs to the district would never be forgotten. He expressed expectations for even greater and more effective support from both clubs in the coming days and thanked all their members for their contributions.

Congratulations to Leaders for Successful Program

Cluster Chief Lion Amar Raj Suwal, Region Chairperson Lion Dhruv Prasad Ghimire and Zone Chairperson Lion Anup Maskey were congratulated and thanked for their important contributions to the successful organization of the Bagmati Area Induction and Joint Installation Ceremony.

Presidents, office bearers, Lions and Leo members from various clubs who attended the program expressed their commitment to making future service initiatives more effective through greater cooperation and coordination.

Lions International operates community service programs around the world in areas including education, healthcare, environmental protection, disaster relief and other social services under its motto, “We Serve.”

In Nepal, Lions International District 325 K Nepal, under the theme “Leading With Purpose,” has been carrying out various service activities through more than 227 Lions clubs based on the needs and priorities of local communities.

The Bagmati Area Induction and Joint Installation Ceremony not only marked the transition of responsibilities to new leadership but also delivered a message of strengthening service initiatives and engaging young people more actively in the Lions movement.
