Kathmandu, Oct 7: The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday decided to forward legal amendments through ordinances and promote some high level government officials.
The meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar decided to provide compensation to 153 victims upon the recommendation of the National Human Rights Commission, according to spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sashmit Pokharel.
The Portugal government has been given permission to open its general consulate in Kathmandu.
The government decided to recommend President Ramchandra Paudel to issue the Ordinance designed to amend Some Nepal Acts on Land; the Ordinance designed to amend Some Nepal Acts on Forest; and the Ordinance designed to amend Some Nepal Acts on Disaster.
The Cabinet meeting promoted joint secretary (technical) Nawin Raj Singh to the post of secretary in the Nepal engineering service cluster. Under the Nepal administration service, joint secretary Chakra Bahadur Budha has been elevated to the post of secretary, Minister Pokharel shared.
From the Nepal auditing service cluster, Assistant Auditor General Chandra Kant Bhandari, has been promoted to the Deputy Auditor General. (RSS)
