Kathmandu, Oct 17 : Nepal Telecom has expressed serious concern over news reports published by various media outlets regarding its 30 Mbps internet package priced at Rs 4,999 per month.
Issuing a press statement on Saturday, the state-owned telecommunications company objected to what it described as inaccurate reporting about the package, stating that some reports had presented facts differently.
Nepal Telecom clarified that it has been corresponding with the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) for approval of internet packages that it has been offering continuously.
The company stated, “Nepal Telecom has been corresponding with the Nepal Telecommunications Authority for approval of the packages it has been operating regularly. The company has already informed the authority about the package introduced as an offer on October 16, 2026 (2083/06/30). The package is also similar to a student offer that the company had previously introduced after informing the authority.”
The company warned that news reports concerning its 30 Mbps Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) internet package could create confusion among customers and urged the public to remain cautious about such reports.
