PM Balendra Shah Visits Rabi Lamichhane’s Residence for Lengthy Talks

Kathmandu : Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane and Prime Minister Balendra Shah held a four-hour meeting at Lamichhane’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Wednesday, according to sources.

Prime Minister Shah visited Lamichhane’s residence along with his chief adviser, Kumar Ben, to hold discussions on government decisions, political appointments and ordinances, sources said.

According to a high-level security source, the meeting began at around 10:15 a.m. and continued until approximately 2:15 p.m.

The discussions reportedly focused on sensitive government matters requiring a common understanding before important decisions could be made. Sources said the two leaders may have discussed urgent government decisions, proposed ordinances and key political appointments.

The Cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday was also postponed until Thursday. According to sources, the rescheduling was linked to the need to hold further discussions on several important matters. However, no official confirmation has been issued establishing a direct connection between the meeting and the postponement.

Lamichhane returned to Kathmandu from India late Sunday night. Prime Minister Shah subsequently visited him at his residence in Budhanilkantha on Wednesday.

Neither side has publicly disclosed the details of the meeting or confirmed whether any specific decisions were reached. Further information about the discussions and their possible implications for government policy and political appointments remains awaited.
